The Sioux Center Public Library will welcome two new board memebers to its board starting in January 2025. Teri Hubbard and Angeles Bahena look forward to contributing to our community through participating on the library board.
Teri, 36, is a delivery nurse by trade but is currently a homeschool mom for her three boys. We are excited to welcome Hubbard to the library board, as she has been a dedicated library patron for several years, and an avid reserver of books for her children.
“Our family truly enjoys the library, and I’m curious to find out what makes the wheels turn on a day-to-day basis,” says Hubbard.

I hope to be an advocate for the library and the vital resources it provides for our community. Knowledge is power, and the library is a building bursting with knowledge waiting to be obtained. I look forward to being a part of something so much bigger than myself.

Bahena, 37, is a community health worker with Community Health Partners (CHP), and has a background in nutrition. We are super excited to welcome Bahena to our board as she has been actively involved with many library programs aimed towards the Hispanic community.
“I believe different perspectives and origins may be a good addition to our already great community library,” says Bahena. “Being a part of decision improvement, including health for more children and families to enjoy the library.”
The role of a library board is to advocate and plan for the library, set and evaluate policies and is the hiring body for the library director. Our board is made up of nine Sioux Center community members representing both rural and city interests. Hubbard and Bahena will replace two outgoing board members, Bob Pollema and Michelle VanBeek.
“I believe different perspectives and origins may be a good addition to our already great community library,” says Bahena. “Being a part of decision improvement, including health for more children and families to enjoy the library.
