Voting resources at the library

In preparation for the November 5 election, the Sioux Center Public Library wants to help our community become informed voters.

You can visit https://siouxcountyia.gov/elections/ as a headquarters for all voting related questions.

Register to Vote:

To Register to Vote in the state of Iowa, you must be US citizen, Iowa resident, and 18 years old by election day. You cannot be a convicted felon. If you meet these requirements we encourage you to register to vote! Your vote makes a difference in our community and nation!

If you have an Iowa Drivers license, you can register online by following this link. Or ask the library to print a paper voter registration form for you. These applications can be mailed to or dropped off at the Sioux County Auditors office.

Where can I vote?

On election day, you can vote at a predetermined polling place, based on your address. Most Sioux Center voters will vote at the Terrace View Event Center.

You can reference this map of voting districts in Sioux County to find out which precinct you live in. A list of all polling locations in Sioux County is available here.

If you can’t make it to the polls on election day, there are options for in-person absentee voting. Visit the Sioux County Courthouse weekdays from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday November 2 from 8-5 p.m.

To vote in person, either on election day or absentee, you will need to bring a valid form of ID with you, such as a drivers license, passport, or voter registration card.

Who’s on my ballot?

You can print a sample ballot for your precinct at the Sioux County election website. These ballots will contain the candidates for the presidential election and congressional races, as well as state and local elections. Each precinct may have different local elections, so it’s important to print the ballot for your precinct to have the most accurate information.

To see statements from presidential candidates on major policy issues, we recommend using Ballotpedia’s Policy Positions tool.
